Jeff Surrell is the founder and managing director of Shot Point Strategies, a seasoned communications and public affairs expert with more than 30 years of experience advising companies, associations, and educational institutions. He specializes in shaping public perception, safeguarding reputations, influencing policy debates, and managing crisis situations.
A former general manager of Edelman’s Washington, D.C. office, Jeff worked closely with Michael Deaver, President Reagan’s former deputy chief of staff. During his time at Edelman, he helped grow the office from roughly 20 staff to one of the largest public relations firms in the world, with nearly $900 million in annual revenue and more than 5,000 employees globally. His expertise spans corporate and public affairs, health care policy, crisis and reputation management, media relations, and transportation and higher education.
Earlier in his career, Jeff served on the staff of U.S. Rep. Robert W. Davis (R–Mich.) and worked in the Defense Department as a foreign liaison officer.
